Hex Colours

A Hex colour code is composed of # and six digits or letters and is always ordered as follows :
red, green, and  blue.

You can also use the English name for the most common colours :

white, black, red, green, blue, brown, beige, purple and yellow

The colour code is always generated from :

00 / 33 / 66 / 99 / CC / FF

Below is The colour percentage of the above characters :

00 = 0% 33 = 20% 66 = 40%
99 = 60% CC = 80% FF = 100%

Hex codes use 16 digits :

The hex code is just a representation of the red, green, and blue intensity, in that order.

Use a scientific calculator

START ___ ACCESSORIES ___ CALCULATOR.
  1. Double click on the calculator.
  2. change this calculator into a scientific calculator, so choose VIEW and then choose SCIENTIFIC.
  • Note the little round buttons beside the HEX and DEC. They are called Radio Buttons.
  • To change Decimal 58 into Hexadecimal, use the mouse and click on the numbers 5 & 8.
  • Now click on the radio button beside HEX and immediately the display shows 3A. Therefore, Dec 58 = Hex 3A.

Some Colours can be given as follows

NOTE :
When a colour consists of three pairs of hexadecimal digits, you can omit one digit from each pair:
#00CC00becomes #0C0, #FF00FF becomes #F0F, #00FFFF becomes #0FF
This way is valid when using Style Sheets in The Head Section.
